That Magritte-like eyeball in space, the absolute very FIRST image I recall seeing as a child (!), from the spring 1963 opening of The Twilight Zone’s 4th network season (the one-hour episodes, only 2 of which are worth watching IMHO out of the 18 they did—“Death-Ship” and “On Thursday We Leave for Home”—before going back to the half-hour format for its 5th and final season in the fall of ‘63). Obviously my future was decided for me right there!
Because if you come to my upcoming “Five Themes of The Twilight Zone” mini-marathon of 5 of the greatest episodes representing the 5 thematic concerns of the legendary TV series, at the very cool bar/restaurant/multimedia space Fornino Park Slope in Brooklyn, Tuesday, July 3rd, from 7-10pm, you’ll see how that manifested in reality!
